The Student Farm provides fresh produce every week at The Pantry, Aggie Compass and the Cross Cultural Center. While I can’t tell you about every single academic, financial, health or other resource on campus, here is a list of miscellaneous resources that my friends and I have tried and recommend. UC Davis has plenty of resources, but it can be hard to keep track of them. You will do things that you never thought you could have done.Ībove all, you will have done so much to be proud of by the end of your time here. Don’t do things just because they might make you rich in the future, but do them based on whether you’ll learn or grow.ĩ. Whether this means choosing a major you’re interested in, or joining clubs for fun, it’s a hundred times easier and less stressful when you actually like what you’re doing. Do things that you like and are passionate about. That being said, it’s okay to change your major, especially because UC Davis offers such a wide range of majors that you might not have heard of before.Ĩ. The sheer number of fields taught at UC Davis made me realize how much knowledge there is out in the world. There is so much I didn’t know going into college, and still so much I don’t know now. Take this as an opportunity to learn about different perspectives and experiences and become more empathetic.ħ. With the huge amount of people here, it’s not surprising that you will meet people from backgrounds you’re unfamiliar with. You will meet people who see things completely differently than you. Join clubs-even if you don’t stick with them, you’ll meet people who will introduce you to other people.Ħ. Just remember that you don’t have to stick with the people you meet on your first day, but you can branch out instead! Talk to people in your classes, especially if you’re taking a smaller class where there are opportunities for discussion. If you live in the residence halls, it’s likely that you’ll make most of your friends there. Everywhere is a place to meet new friends. Make sure to prioritize your mental health.ĥ.

Besides the academic advice, like making sure to check your pass time early and making study groups, here are some things I’ve learned about life in my four years here.Įven if you transferred and will only be at UC Davis for two years, you can do and grow so much in that time.
